Photographer

John is a professional photographer with more than two decades of experience in wedding, event and portrait photography.

His photography career began in the early ‘90s. He made prints in the darkroom of a Chicago-based photography studio where he learned the business from the ground-up. Before long John was behind the camera. He apprenticed with and later worked beside some of the city’s top wedding photographers.

By the late 90s he was booking his own engagements – weddings, anniversaries, bar mitzvahs, quinceañeras, corporate events, even CD covers. Clients love working with John. He not only takes amazing, artistic photos (beautiful formals, extraordinary detail shots, in-the-moment candids), he’s also extremely easy going and fun to be around.   

Even when John’s not working, his camera is never far away. The photos on this site represent just some of the people, places and things he’s captured through his lens, during travels to London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Nashville and more.  

Artist

A self-taught artist, John began painting seriously in his early 30s. Many of his works are dramatic portraits inspired by his own photographs. He uses acrylics on primed, gallery-style canvas. The scale of his work adds to its impact – paintings range in size from 24" x 24” to 48” x 60”.  

Over the years, John has shown his art at the Los Manos Gallery and other Chicagoland venues where his paintings frequently sold out.
